Statement:

Liam Scott is a Newcastle-based designer from Brussels, whose work is informed by his Chinese and Scottish heritage where appropriate. His practice explores the intersection of culture, form, and material, translating personal narratives into contemporary furniture and objects.

After studying Furniture and Product Design at Northumbria University, Liam developed a hands-on approach grounded in craftsmanship, with a particular focus on woodwork. His work is defined by a balance between organic, flowing shapes and structured geometric forms, creating pieces that feel both expressive and considered.

Influenced by his multicultural background, Liam’s work reflects a dialogue between Eastern and Western design languages, embedding cultural references within modern contexts while continuing to experiment with new forms and processes.
