James Stephenson

  • James Stephenson found his entry into Design through designing and making hand-shaped surfboards. After Studying 3D Design at Northumbria University James transitioned from Surfboards to Furniture & Object.

    James’s practice remains heavily informed by Surfboard Shaping and Surf Culture, with references to Craft, Material Culture and Narrative.

  • Liam Scott's ideas tend to emerge during the process of making.

    Using the studio as a playground for developing a visual language that is “blobby” and “wavy” Liam creates work through a reactive approach to design.

    Utilizing the various timber off-cuts we have collected within the studio in his current approach of letting the material dictate the overall form of each object.
